After procrastinating for days, I finally started writing the first chapter of Moonlit Road! Here’s an excerpt of it:
The full moon cast its blue hue upon the world of Dohma, serving as a light source in the dark night. Most of the population spent the night dreaming away in their beds. Except for a certain blond-haired boy in his late teens.
He strolled down a path in the wilderness behind Halmeh, the largest city in Dohma. Limber pine trees loomed over him on both sides. A light breeze flew past the boy, rustling the colorful leaves that littered the dark grass beneath his bare feet.
Is there anything out here? He wondered while watching out for fallen tree branches and other objects lying around in the dark. Suddenly, he sensed unfamiliar magic somewhere in the forest. What…? Maybe those rumors about a fairy living in these woods were true. He forced himself to walk faster, hoping to find the source before it disappeared. For a moment, he stole a glance at the moonlit sky and furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. Shouldn’t the sun be coming out by now?
After walking for what felt like a long time, the blond boy finally stopped when he found himself standing in the center of a large clearing. He scanned the area for any signs of life and discovered a little pink dot of light flying around. I-Is that a fairy?
“Hello?” He whispered.
The pink dot turned in his direction and flew toward him, quickly closing the distance between him and it. Upon closer inspection, the boy noticed that it was, in fact, a female fairy; her long brown hair fell down her back like silk while brown eyes stared into his blue ones.
“Who are you? What are you, a human, doing here? Do you know anything about what happened to the moon?” The female fairy spoke like a frightened child, spewing questions at the boy while panic caused her body to shake.
The boy could only stand there with wide eyes. This is the first time I’ve actually talked to a fairy face-to-face! What should I do?
