Story Flow

July 14, 2016

Today, I checked the document I made for New Love Abroad’s first draft so that I could see all of the comments that my editor left me two days ago. One of them stuck out to me while I was scrolling through the entire doc:

The time skips are abrupt and confusing.

Until now, I thought the story was flowing nicely, but this is an issue that I hadn’t noticed before. Right now, I’m unsure of what kind of solution there may be to fixing this.

Also, I recently unpublished NLA on Wattpad so I wouldn’t feel guilty about not updating it. If this is the reason why readers might have been losing interest in my story, then it looks like I still have a lot of work to do.

Has anyone else encountered such an issue in their story? What did you do to resolve it? Tell me in the comments section.

I’ve never had an issue before with time skips. If I have a time skip, I usually explain in exposition what happened.

Ah, I hadn’t thought of doing that. Thanks for sharing!
